No.  The new copy+paste function seems to only work for text and inline images contained in an email message.  Alternatives are being researched on retrieving an attached file.

Upload a file using a web browser

posted Jul 9, 2009, 5:16 AM by Warner Zee

Files On-the-Go comes with a web server.  If the web server is enabled, you may upload a file directly to the application using a web browser.

Please note that ONLY computers on the SAME WiFi network shared by the iPhone can access this application's web server.

Please perform the following steps to upload a file:
  1. Start the Files On-the-Go application on your iPhone.  (The application must be running in order to upload files.)
  2. Check that the application's web server is running.  Select the Web Browser tab.  The web server should be ON and a url should be listed (e.g. http://192.168.10.100:8080).
  3. Open a web browser from a computer on the same WiFi network shared by the iPhone.
  4. Navigate to this application's web server.  You can find the address by looking at the Web Browser tab.
  5. Navigate to the folder that you want to upload the file to.  (You may also create new sub-folders by selecting New Folder from the Action list in the upper right corner.)
  6. Select Upload File from the Action list in the upper right corner and click go.
  7. Browse for the file that you want to upload and click Upload.
Your file will be uploaded and saved into the current folder.

Add a file by URL

posted Jul 9, 2009, 4:36 AM by Warner Zee

To begin with, you will need the URL for the file to be uploaded from the Internet.  For example, to add a copy of Google's 2008 annual report, you would use http://investor.google.com/pdf/2008_google_annual_report.pdf.  Please note that the URL you use should be accessible from Safari.

Please perform the following to add the file:
  1. Navigate to the folder that you want to add the file to.
  2. Click the actions icon in the upper right corner.
  3. From the list of actions, select Add File.
  4. Under File Location, enter the URL for the file.  If you copied the URL from Safari (or email), you can paste it here.  Just double tap in the File Location field and select Paste from the popup menu.
  5. Optionally, you can give the file a new name by entering the name in the File Name field.
  6. Press the Retrieve File button at the bottom of the screen.  (You may need to scroll down to it.)
Your file will be retrieved and saved to the current folder.
