About Files On-the-Go

Have you ever left home and forgot to bring a copy of that important document?  Or tried to view a document, but found yourself without 3G or wireless access?  Files On-the Go is the answer to your dilemma!

With Files On-the-Go, you can save a copy of any file onto your iPhone or iPod Touch.  And organize all of your files into separate folders.  You can store any type of file including PDF's, Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, music and more.  You can view any files supported by your iPhone or iPod Touch.

The standard edition of this application includes:

• File viewing in widescreen/landscape and portrait.
• Custom PDF viewer that supports large pdf files, page forward and back and jump to a specific page.
• Create and edit text files.
• The ability to email saved files as an attachment.
• Email a single page from a pdf file.
• The ability to create folders and sub-folders within each folder.
• The ability to save a file from a url or to upload a file using the built in web server.
• View saved files in formats supported by the iPhone (e.g. pdf's, doc's, xls', mp3's, mpg's, etc.).
• A built in web server to access all folders and files from any computer on the Wi-Fi network shared by your iPhone.
• Create folders and upload files from the web server.
• Delete a folder and all of its contents.
• Delete a file.

Version 1.1 - Released on July 4, 2009

Your feedback has been much appreciated.  This version includes the following:

• Upgrade to iPhone OS 3.0.
• Saved files can be emailed as an attachment.
• Fix for add file by url for files smaller than 0.5mb.  Smaller files were not being added.
• When adding a new file, the url field will move to the top so that it is not covered by the keyboard.  Previously users had to scroll down to the url field.  Scrolling is now done automatically.
• Additional details included on the use of copy+paste for url's.

Version 1.0 - Released on June 19, 2009

The first edition of Files On-the-Go approved by Apple and released into the App Store.
